Have you ran out of date ideas and in need of something to really impress your partner? Well, You’ve come to the right place. I have compiled a list of all the best date ideas Manchester has at the ready. Whether you want a date jam packed with activities or a romantic exploration of Manchester’s heritage. This guide covers everything the city has to offer to get those sparks flying.

Activity Date Ideas Manchester Ideas

These are ideal for first dates because you get to avoid any awkward silences between conversion by keeping busy. They are also great for couples looking to spice up their date night and have some fun. Our first section of date ideas covers all thing active. With these date night Manchester ideas you are guaranteed to have a laugh.

Roxy Ballroom

If you like ball games and booze, Roxy Ballroom is perfect for you. There is a range of activities to do here including shuffleboard, ping pong, crazy pool and beer pong. Manchester is lucky enough to host two of Roxy Ballrooms venues, one located at the Manchester Arndale and the other in Deansgate. This is one of my favourite places for a date night because it is not like anywhere else in the city, the place is always booming with good vibes and a fun atmosphere.

Dog Bowl

Located just below the railway tracks between Oxford road and Deansgate is Dog Bowl. This is a bowling alley with a twist with its New York inspired design. This is a great place for a date night whether it is just the two of you or if you’re wanting something to do as a group. Dog Bowl has a great selection of music, cocktails and craft ales as well as tasty food if you fancy a nibble in between games. you can read more about Dog Bowl on our blog ‘Fun things to do in Manchester‘.

Twenty Twenty Two

On the other side of town, located in the heart of the Northern Quarter is Twenty Twenty Two. A unique basement bar and ping pong space that promises to serve up tasty cocktails and good vibes. Twenty Twenty Two is ideal for a couple with a competitive streak who want a more lively date night. The best part is it is affordable and fun so you can’t go wrong here, especially if you are a student.

Exploration Date Night Manchester

For those who fancy a date idea Manchester has to offer that doesn’t involve getting drunk, I’ve got you covered too. It can be hard to find a chilled date idea but I’ve managed to pull together my four favourites, perfect for something different to do on a Saturday afternoon. If you really want to impress your partner with something more thoughtful that simply going out for a drink, here are some great options:

SEALIFE Manchester

First on the list of our exploration dates is the SEALIFE Manchester aquarium which takes around 1.5 to 2 hours to tour. Here you can enter a relaxing underwater world where you can see Sharks, Clownfish, Turtles and much more. Located at the Trafford Centre this is a unique date idea that gives you the option to head out for some food afterwards or even a quick visit around some of the clothing stores inside the Trafford Centre.

Manchester Museums

Manchester has a range of Museums, the two I would suggest for a date include the Science and Industry Museum and Manchester Museum. The first museum I suggested is significant for the city as it covers the history and evolution of science and industry with a particular emphasis on Manchester achievements. The Manchester Museum on the other hand showcases artefacts from archaeology, anthropology and natural history, owned by the University of Manchester this is a must visit for a date activity for those who have an interest in history. Check out some other museums in our ‘Cheap things to do in Manchester‘ guide.

BREAKOUT Manchester

For those who fancy a more exhilarating date idea, this one isn’t for couples who can’t communicate under pressure. BREAKOUT Manchester is a live escape room where you have 60 minutes to escape a locked room by finding clues and solving puzzles.

Boozy Date Night Manchester:

Last but not least we have the boozy date section, perfect for those who want to ease those first date nerves or for those couples who appreciate a good cocktail and fun venue. This list has our 3 favourite bars ideal for a date but with all with their own unique twist.
