Sushi Manchester | Where to go

Everyone knows that Manchester is rich in culture and high quality Japanese restaurants. Fortunately, for all you Sushi lovers out there, this means there are a number of amazing places to choose from if you’re looking for Sushi Manchester. After trying and testing a range of sushi restaurants in Manchester, we have been able to put together this ultimate list of where to go to get your sushi fix.

Sushi Manchester

Although there are a number of places you can buy sushi to go in Manchester such as Yo Sushi and Itsu, we wanted to explore the restaurants designed for those who like eating out in style. Think top notch service paired with crafted cocktails, perfect for date nights and special occasions.

Cottonopolis

First on the list is our ultimate favourite, the dim lit restaurant and specially selected tunes from guest and resident DJs set the mood for what’s to come. After visiting here on Valentines Day, we were not disappointed. The service was on point with the waitress explaining the process and going as far as recommending cocktails to suit our taste, leaving me with a new favourite cocktail I’d never tried before. When it came to the sushi itself we were more than impressed. We do admit Cottonopolis is on the pricey side but it’s definitely worth every penny. On the weekend they have a number of events with different DJs and performers to make for a truly unique dining experience.

Australasia

Another spectacular restaurant that serves some of the best Sushi Manchester has to offer is Australisia. This restaurant is one of the most beautiful spots in the city. Its interior is simply stunning and exterior is very instagrammable. To find it look out for the big glass triangle which takes you down stairs to a stylish sanctuary hidden beneath the heart of Manchester. Australasia does more than just sushi, it also serves a mix of cuisines drawn from around the pacific rim. We recommend ordering a few different dishes to try accompanied with a refreshing cocktail to complement your meal.

Firefly

If you are on the lookout for a truly charming venue, Firefly is ideal with its low hanging, bewitching roof forest and indulgent evening menu. The unique cocktail and small plates menu make for the perfect sushi restaurant Manchester. Our favourite part of this delicious sushi menu is that you can choose from 18 or 40 piece sharing platters to split with a loved one or friends. What’s more, Firefly caters for more than just the meat eater with a range of vegetarian and vegan options. You can find this restaurant on the edge of the city centre in Salford.

Tattu

One of our absolute favourite restaurants in Manchester is Tattu, although we admit it serves Chinese cuisine not Japanese.. This independent family run business started in 2015 by two brothers and in only a short period of time it has become an incredibly sought after place to eat. This is due to the experience created which was designed to stimulate all senses. It fuses beautiful and meaningful design with quality cooking. Although tattu is a chinese restaurant, it does serve a range of small sushi style plates. Tattu is the epitome of Insta worthy, with its award winning approach to interior design that ensures that each restaurant is entirely unique in its aesthetic.

Samsi

sushi Manchester

Just a short walk from Piccadilly station is Samsi, making it the perfect place to grab a bite to eat before venturing further into the city centre. Whatever your reason for visiting Manchester city centre, Samsi is a great place to relax and unwind. The traditional sushi restaurant serves everything from sushi platters to gyozas and noodles, and an ultimate favourite- katsu curry. Try it out for yourself and let us know what you think.
